The Numbat, with its reddish-brown coat, striking white stripes and slender pointed snout, is one of Australia’s most unique and charming native mammals.
Found mainly in southwestern Western Australia, Numbats inhabit open forests and woodlands where fallen logs and hollow trees provide shelter.
Unlike most other Australian marsupials, Numbats are active during the day, using their long sticky tongues to feed almost exclusively on termites hidden beneath bark and in the soil.
Numbats symbolise curiosity, focus and quiet determination, reflecting the steady way they explore their environment in search of what they need.
When the Numbat appears, it can be seen as a gentle reminder that patience, persistence and curiosity often lead us exactly where we need to be.
Our Numbat earrings began as an original illustration in our home studio and have been thoughtfully transformed into lightweight earrings using recycled plastics - right here in Brisbane, Australia.
