Found across much of mainland Australia, emus inhabit a wide range of environments including open plains, woodlands, savannah and semi-arid regions, often travelling great distances in search of food and water.
Unlike most birds, emus cannot fly, but their long legs allow them to run at remarkable speeds, making them strong and resilient travellers across the land.
Emus symbolise endurance, strength and forward momentum, reminding us of the importance of perseverance and steady progress.
