Found in the tropical rainforests of north east Queensland the Cassowary is a giant bird with a colourful head that kind of looks like a dinosaur from the past.
They have a striking appearance.
Did you know that they can't fly! Instead they run super fast and are really good swimmers. They can cross rivers if they need to.
They have a hard bump on their heads called a casque, which helps them push through bushes in the rainforest.
They eat a lot of fruits and help the forest by spreading seeds when they walk around.
We loved drawing this Cassowary for you.
Made into a beautiful pin using Recycled Plastics right here in sunny Brisbane.
